Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology is the eminent professional journal of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, published by Wiley. The Journal is edited by Salmaan Al-Qureshi (Centre for Eye Research Australia at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital) and Robert Casson (South Australian Institute of Ophthalmology at Adelaide University).

The Journal was first published in 1973 and is now ranked amongst the 25 most influential Ophthalmology journals worldwide, and commands a global readership. All articles are peer reviewed and the Journal publishes manuscripts in ‘Visual Science’ ‘Research’ and ‘Clinical Ophthalmology’.

Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology is the official journal of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. The journal publishes peer-reviewed original research and reviews dealing with all aspects of clinical practice and research which are international in scope and application. CEO recognises the importance of collaborative research and welcomes papers that have a direct influence on ophthalmic practice but are not unique to ophthalmology.

The acceptance criteria for all papers are the quality, originality and significance of the research. Manuscripts are peer reviewed in an average time of 6 weeks, and accepted manuscripts are published online in an average of 7 days from receipt at the publishers.
